Christina Hendricks models new Vivienne Westwood jewellery collection
It's easy to see why Vivienne Westwood picked Mad Men star Christina Hendricks as the face (and body!) of her new palladium jewellery collection. Her classic, pale-skinned beauty is the ideal canvas for the designer's 'Get a Life' collection, which is influenced by Paganism and made from sensationally shiny palladium - a naturally white metal belonging to the platinum family that is able to maintain its colour and shape over time.
The collection includes both commercial and couture pieces, all delicately crafted by hand. The acorn, the oak tree and the heart all feature prominently to represent strength, power and hope for change to make the environment better for the future.
Hendricks, 35 is a huge Westwood fan and even bears a certain resemblance to the flame-haired designer. She said of the collection: "I love that there are dramatic pieces such as the tiara and the heart necklace as well as more simple pieces such as the acorn earrings. As Palladium is a naturally white metal, the pieces really sparkle under the lights and I cannot wait to wear them on the red carpet!"
We bet she can't! The pieces are beautiful and very much in keeping with the woodland trend that's currently huge in jewellery design. The pieces will be making an appearance in Westwood's London and LA boutiques from later this month.
